PAR Expands Leadership as Advocate for Design Excellence
In alignment with PAR's ethos and commitment to advancing a rigorous intellectual and artistic dialogue across the architectural profession, Jennifer Marmon, PAR's founding partner, has been invited to participate in numerous design advocacy activities in 2015.
P/A AWARDS JURY
In January, Jennifer was appointed to the 62nd Annual Progressive Architecture Awards Jury. The P/A Awards recognize unbuilt projects demonstrating overall design excellence and innovation while representing what the term "progressive" means for architecture at a given moment in time. This year, Jennifer served alongside Thomas Phifer of Thomas Phifer & Partners and Ammar Eloueini of AEDS, who awarded six projects that resolve diverse programs through incredibly inventive solutions. The winners are published in the February issue of ARCHITECTURE and were honored in New York on February 18.
LA CITY PLANNING DESIGN REVIEW PANEL
Following the AIA|LA Presidential Emerging Practice Award in 2014, Jennifer has joined the Los Angeles Department of City Planning Design Review Panel this year. Alongside other leading designers, Jennifer will advise the Urban Design Studio planning staff on urban design issues and provide recommendations for upcoming projects throughout the city.
IAF 2015 ADVISORY BOARD
Jennifer has been appointed to the India Architecture Festival Advisory Board in 2015. Contextualized by India's emerging economy and radical urbanization, the IAF will provide a global platform for creative discourse on issues of architecture and the city. Featuring juried exhibitions, awards, presentations and seminars, the festival opens in New Delhi in October 2015.
AIA|LA POWERFUL SYMPOSIUM
On February 27, Jennifer will participate in a dialog on "Research, Architecture and Social Impact" at the AIA Los Angeles Powerful Symposium. With an interest in creating relations between people and spaces, Jennifer will discuss PAR's approach to research and practice, her desire to create public architecture in Los Angeles, and her perspective of Los Angeles as a culture of diversity.
