DECEMBER 2014
Happy Holidays and Best Wishes for the New Year. Here's what we've been designing, building, exhibiting and thinking about in 2014.

This award is the highest honor that the American Institute of Architects Los Angeles can bestow on an emerging architecture firm for consistently producing innovative architecture."
The Chicago Athenaeum and The European Centre for Architecture have honored our Taichung Cultural Center proposal with a 2014 International Architecture Award. Chicago Athenaeum President Christian Narkiewicz-Laine states "The awards honor new and cutting-edge design, promoting international architecture to a public audience, dedicated to the recognition of global excellence in architecture and urbanism."
Our Taichung Cultural Center also received double honors at the International Design Awards where it was awarded 1st Place in the Conceptual Architecture category and 2nd Place in the Institutional Architecture category.

PAR recently took part in The City and the World exhibition at the Istanbul Design Biennial in Turkey. Curated by Christian Narkiewicz-Lane, the exhibition showcased winners of the 2014 International Architecture Awards program, and will be followed by a traveling exhibition inside Europe and the United States. A catalogue will accompany the exhibition.
PUBLICATIONS

Michael Webb writes about PAR in the Nov/Dec issue of FORM.
RECENT
For the Guggenheim Museum Helsinki, a competition developed in collaboration with Arup, we proposed a gathering of eight soft volumes of varying sizes and undulating heights that reflect the surroundings while creating a porous urban condition. The pavilions lightly intersect with one another leading to a collection of exhibition spaces surrounded by public gardens. Check it out on World Architects.

PAR completed new galleries in Los Angeles and London for IBID Projects. The Los Angeles gallery involved transforming an abandoned garage warehouse and large courtyard into a 12,000 sf exhibition and event outpost. Working closely with our client, we were able to preserve the original aura of the structure while at the same time, create a new spatial quality for the gallery. In London, we adapted an early 20th century townhouse into a flexible 300 sm gallery in Marylebone.
Construction of T House is ready for Spring 2015. Our design, characterized by a central void of interconnected spaces preserves the landscape it's characteristic fig trees by stacking the house within the tree boundary.
